SUMMARY:Field trip to Agnes - October 21
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, October 21 for the fall field trip to Agnes\, Texas\, which is about 7 miles west of Springtown\, to explore the native plants that have survived the severe summer weather. Ricky Linex will lead the group to discover the gems of Parker County that have flourished despite our temperature swings. This part of the county has received very little rain since the first of the year\, but on October 5\, it rained 2 inches. \nUse your GPS to locate the Agnes Baptist Church\, 350 Agnes North\, Springtown\, Texas. The entrance to the site we will visit is through an open gate on the south side of the church. Go through the parking lot onto the dirt road and follow the road into the property behind the church. There is room to park inside. \nWear sturdy walking shoes. There are some elevation changes\, so you might want a walking stick. Bring water. Those who wish to do so can meet for lunch at one of Springtown’s restaurants. We hope to see you there! \nFor more information\, contact Terri Walker by phone or text at 817 876 4292 or email terrilee.walker@ gmail.com

SUMMARY:Rock Creek Ranch Bioblitz
DESCRIPTION:Jeff Quayle will be leading an iNaturalist BioBlitz at Rock Creek Ranch Park in far SW Tarrant Co.\, which is the City of Fort Worth’s newest park acquisition. \nThe park won’t open to the public for another 4-5 years. Development around DFW is increasing\, so saving Fort Worth’s open space is critical to preserve what’s left of the Fort Worth Prairie. At 270 acres\, Rock Creek Ranch Park will be one of the largest parks in Fort Worth with remaining native prairie. If you want to help participate in recording iNaturalist observations\, which will benefit data for the City of Fort Worth Parks Dept.\, \nPlease register through the link below. An address will be provided after you register. \nhttps://www.tickettailor.com/events/npatfortworthchapter/1024566?fbclid=IwAR2WojM3pIHnz8atI6awuPhb5hEobO4Ymi4KmHXyTdYI_JnShHFRvs47Rvs
