The annual Cross Timbers Plant swap will occur at our October 24 meeting. This is a fun and exciting event, where you can go home with a treasured native plant. I look forward to this every year.
How to participate
Bring a potted native plant to the meeting.
o Typically, plants are in one quart or larger pots.
o The plant may be: Purchased or Transplanted from your yard or other location
o The plant should be native to the Cross Timbers region.
Informational sheet about the plant that includes:
o Common Name
o Scientific Name
o Type: Tree, Shrub, Subshrub, Herb, Vine, Groundcover
o Evergreen, Semi-evergreen, Deciduous
o Conditions: Sun, Partial Sun/Shade, Shade
o Soil drainage requirements: well drained, wet, etc.
o Soil pH requirements
o Bloom Color:
o Bloom Time:
o Pollinators/Other Insects Supported (optional)
o Why do you love this plant and want to share it with someone?
What to expect
Each participant will be asked to share information about their plant. Then a game will be played to swap plants
between members.
