moss
Wouldn't it be fun to have a garden of rocks covered with moss and lichen. I wish I knew more about this form of life.
I have been reading Muck and Mire and my interest has been aroused. Now I am in the market for a book or field guide to tell me more.
Posted by Bill Hopkins on January 20, 2005 10:05 PMI've had moss turn up in a couple places in our yard and was so excited. I guess the conditions were just right for it. I use it a lot in craft projects and thought it would be nice to have my own supply but I wouldn't want to harvest it.

However, on this old house they build a old fashing farmers stone wall and the builder wasn't happy until the stone that came had the right amount of lichen/moss on it. Your picture is very nice though.
