ike

If you were wondering, we got little or nothing here from Ike.  There were cloudy skies on Saturday, along with a gentle breeze and high humidity, but that was about it.  A light sprinkle fell for five or ten minutes around noon.  We were hoping for a good rain.

We got about three inches here, Bill. That’s about how far it was between the drops on yhe ground. What a bust, two hurricanes and a tropical storm and hardly any rain here at all.

Glad to hear you you didn’t have destructive rains, but it is too bad your drought wasn’t eased. I was rather hoping for more TS weather in the east, along Georgia and the Carolinas for that reason.

Oddly enough, sadly enough, we got slammed with rain in St. Louis. There was flash flooding not a mile from our place that rose to about 5 feet that killed two people. None of us knew our parts of the city were at such risk from floods, but it was due to too much rain, and sewers not capable of handling it.

Luckily our rivers will only hit moderate not major flooding.

Third major flooding incident in six months.

    Squish.

We have not had rain in weeks either. We sure could use some. Maybe by next weekend…maybe.
