whoo-hoo

No more poky old satellite dish. We’re zipping along on DSL this morning.

We’ve been anticipating this for months. We placed our order on the first day it was announced. And it still took over three weeks. The installation date was put off three times. And then when they finally installed it, not only did it not work but the regular telephone service was knocked out for over a day before they got it straightened out. Just part of the pleasures of rural life.

But this is the part I don’t get. Although the business office sold us the 3 mb speed, the local installer nixed that and told us he could only give us 1.5 because he needed to apportion the capacity among all his customers. Does this make sense? They just installed new lines three weeks ago and they are already short on capacity? Anyway why would you not sell everything that you had? And why is the company being run by the local installer?

But it’s still a heckuva lot faster that it was.

Nope, doesn’t make sense. Suggestion: call the company and tell them that your installer wouldn’t honor your original order. If you want to view streaming video, you’re really going to need the 3 mb.

Probably not your browser ML. I’m changing the look and I decided I didn’t really need a big banner across the top.
