Tricia was quick with the camera when she spied this visitor checking out the inside of a large flower pot on the patio outside her studio.
We rarely see a fox in the daytime. The heat and drought are making the animals hungrier. Tricia has been putting seeds in this pot for some cardinals. I think the fox saw them visiting and curiosity got the better of him.

Good capture.
I love the fox photo. Unfortunately, they are scarce in my area. Too many coyotes. I did see one downtown several months ago. Right downtown. The restaurants feed him. Don’t know where he dens.
I’m enjoying your site.

Wonderful shot. The weather here is hot and the earth is cracking, someone spotted a doe walking down the road…we don’t usually see them here. The animals are all thirsty.
This guy looks very familiar. The foxes love to frequent under the bird feeders looking for appetizers, I think. I also see them in the daytime, which always makes me a little worried. My Papillons don’t understand about foxes.

A dream shot! We feel lucky to see fox in our part of the state. The one I have seen only several times is red, but probably about the same size.
Good shot.
At the Austin pond society meeting last night the talk was about the weather. Everyone agreed that the critters are getting bolder looking for water and finding it in our ponds. The LCRA meteorologist said that we can look forward to more drought punctuated by extreme rains which will likely run off rather than soak into the aquifers. So although we might get more actual rainfall, we will still have water shortages.
