happy blogiversary to me

Time flies. Hard to believe it was five years ago today I published my first post on this blog.

It’s been through some changes. Three different brands of publishing software and three different looks, starting out on Blogger with a default theme. This was actually my second attempt at blogging. The first I had called “vertigo.”  I started it while I was at home recuperating from some minor surgery. I only managed a few posts before I changed my mind and deleted the whole thing. But a couple months later I decided to give it another go.

For the curious here is what the first iteration looked like. And here is the second.

It never really has been a blog “about” gardening. The description on the second version stated the intent, “observations and news from a Blackland Prairie gardener.”

    You must have changed your post since it hit the feed readers, because in Bloglines it says, “Can you believe it? Five years ago today I published my first post on this blog.” and it immediately made me want to come to your site and say, “Yes! I can believe it!” I don’t always comment here but I always read every post. I’m looking forward to shaking your hand and hearing your voice at the Spring Fling.

    i did change it. i know you are not supposed to do that, but i did it almost immediately and i thought it would update the feed.
