If I knew those people in real life, I'd avoid them. The "cozies" I like best are from England and several decades ago - Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, G.K. Chesterton's Father Brown, and Margery Allingham's Campion. I guess it's not a coincidence that many of these were dramatized on PBS's Mystery! I didn’t like it either, and I had just the same reaction about the characters. If I knew those people in real life, I’d avoid them.
