I know what you mean about these epiphanies, though I can't seem to recall any specifically in my life. I think that's because it all suddenly makes such good sense that it just becomes part of your understanding of the world and no longer unique.

Can you still get Poly Pop anywhere?</description>

When oldtimers discuss laundry in the Chicago area, some may refer to any chlorine bleach as Linco. My guess is this is also regional.
