mystery plant identified

Aha. It turns out the mystery plant that I thought at first might be a form of bluebonnet may be “wild alfalfa.” I sent a picture to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin and got this reply.
Our expert, Joe Marcus, believes your “bluebonnets” are really wild alfalfa or scurfy pea, Psoralidium tenuiflorium. […]

They call this antelope horn.  It is a kind of milkweed.  Butterflies sure seem to like it.

Anybody know what this might be?   At first I thought it was a bluebonnet but it got much bigger and never had a bloom.   Similar leaf though. Those are the antelope horns you see in the background.

Passion flower, strange visitor from another planet.

Purple iris. Also yellow ones and blue ones.

Spirea.

And of course bluebonnets. They don’t seem to have been damaged by the wintry weather.
