I spent a summer in EL Paso, and drove across the middle, but have no idea what East Texas looks like. I Love that Bug down there...Is it that big? I knew about migration patterns in different parts of the country, but had no idea that there were separate ones just within Texas. (It's a whole other country, you know... :) There are a couple of branches of my family tree that had members move to Texas - around the time of the Civil War I think. Interesting!
