We had a little snow yesterday afternoon but the ground was wet and it didn’t stick. Overnight we got a light dusting, but it was almost melted off by noon today.
I missed a great photo shot this morning. I returned to my desk from the kitchen with a hot cup of tea and startled a deer with his nose up against my study window. We both jumped about a foot in the air.

I thought the picture you did post was quite striking. It would have been fun to see the deer with its nose pressed against the glass.
What you did capture is a fabulous photo! Nice.
What a gorgeous picture! I hope you don’t mind me setting is as my desktop wallpaper… I like to do that every couple of weeks when I come across a good gardening/outdoor photo.
Thanks for sharing the once in a lifetime incident with us.
Beautiful photo. The dark green offset by the almost black and white background is striking.
You might have missed a great photo, but got one, too. Cactus in snow!
I LOVE that cactus in the snow. The deer will be back..
Cactus In Snow.
Make a great painting, too!
Where are these prickly pear cactus! Outside?
I have enormous sized ones that I bring in every fall and keep in the kitchen..come see why.(in Canada)
Since I have brought them in you should see the growth!!
Saw you on Garden V….I’m posted there too! nice meeting a fellow gardener!
Now that’s an unusual sight. I wonder whose heart was pumping faster? Yours or the deer’s?
