Overnight we had a light dusting of sleet on top of the ice that was still there. The temperature got down to at least 26. That’s the low that was registered in my greenhouse. I still only have one remote temperature sensor and I decided to put it in the greenhouse instead of outdoors. Even without heat the greenhouse stays slightly warmer than the outdoors at night.
Once I get another cup of coffee in me I’ll go check on the plants there. Mostly they are just my roses and a salvia regla that I’m waiting until spring to plant, and a few seedlings I’m experimenting with. Mostly stuff that is cold-hardy.
The greenhouse has a propane heater with a thermostat but the tank is empty. The only things we use propane for are the greenhouse heater and a little gas log in one of the fireplaces in the house. We haven’t used either of those since last winter and we had a little gas in the tank then, so that must mean we have a leak somewhere. No worry now since the tank is empty, but another item on the repair list.
We’ve been hibernating in the house since Friday night. I’ve been enjoying some of the books and music I got for Christmas. I may write something about those later on.

We’re icy here now, too, Bill. A big plumeria is in the garage, and it’s getting colder out there, so our tropical tree may have to come into the house for a day or two.
I’d like to hear about the books and music when you get the chance to write.

Please do write about the books you’re reading. I’m always eager to hear what other people have their noses in.
Better get that gas leak checked ASAP!! that is not safe!
