comments

I haven’t had problems with spam on my comments for a good while. I made a comment as such on another blog recently and then suddenly a few days later I began to be besieged with the stuff. After making the comment I decided to update the plug-in I use. Maybe I didn’t get the update installed right. Maybe spammers are reading comments to find new victims for their activities. Maybe it’s all just a coincidence.

I promise  to get back to regular posting soon. I’ve been busy with other stuff.

    I suspect I am responsible in some way. I get more than 500 spam comments a day. Fortunately, my Akismet filter catches nearly all of them, but if the spammers are trolling blogs for targets — yikes!

    This happened to me, too. I hadn’t commented on any of my Japanese-related blogs for a while, but when I finally did my Japan blog nipponDAZE was inundated with spam.
