We finally got some rains this past week. We got out to the property on Saturday afternoon when the rain was still falling.
In profile our property is shaped much like the right-hand side of a bell curve. Near the top, the land is almost flat. There are places where it can be almost marshy after a rain because the water does not run off.

Closer to the lake the water rushes to the lowest spot. Often that is down this road.

Beautiful!
Love that road photo. The leaf encroachment looks so familiar to me. But the spring wind and rain will clear the leaves off my roads and paths — then the spring growth will take their place. And so it goes.
Water is life.
I have to remind myself this as I am stuck in the house today and had to call in absent from a meeting - the roads in Michigan are slick with a thin coat of ice and I’m not braving it.
Is the cabin down the road or up on top?
The cabin is up above, Mary Lou.
I would hate to be on this road when it iced over, Jenn. It might not look it from this perspective but it is a four-wheel drive road even in the best weather.
That’s an appreciable hill there, bill!
