shoreline

Our place in the woods comes with 300 feet of lake frontage. This is what that shoreline looks like right now.

There has been no rain in the area all through the Fall. I know there was rain in early summer but I can’t remember the last time. I need to look it up. The lake is down more than six feet. When it is full none of these rocks would be visible.

If I needed rocks this would be a good time to collect some. It is also a good time to take note of just what has been hiding under that pretty blue water. Next spring when the lake is full and I am tempted to go skinny-dipping, I hope I remember about that board with the rusty nails.

(Just kidding about the skinny-dipping).

when I made a post about skinnydipping in my lake, it got the most comments I’d had so far. Go for it! (The dipping and the posting.)

I envision pablo’s lake a little more secluded but, hey, if it’s dark, who cares.

Why not haul that board out of there while you can see it? Then you won’t have to remember it’s there.

Wow, 6 feet is pretty bad. I sure hope you guys get some much-needed moisture come spring.

Here’s an innocent, if not stupid, question: does it rain in Texas in the winter?

DUH ! I’m with Kathy…But knowing my darlin, he probably didn’t notice the board until he got home & looked at the picture.
And I agree w/Mary Lou, too.
Our fisherman neighbor had already warned us tho, that he threw old limbs & “stuff” off the dock to create space for fish haven.

Leslie: Yes it does rain here in the winter. Strangely the evening that I wrote this post we got a little rain. And a little more the next day too.

Mary Lou: If pictures of skinny-dippers appear here, you can be sure that they will not be of me. It’s been a few years since I last tried it but you are right it was fun.

Pablo: The most comments I have got on a post was this one on my tortoise-shell cat Julie. It pulled in 60 comments. I closed down comments on old posts when I converted from MT to WP; otherwise it might have a few more. I don’t know what it was about that post. Nothing else I have written has even come close. Most of them were from readers who evidently arrived via Google searches.
