One of the glories of the plant kingdom - cenizo; also known as purple sage or Texas sage. More formally known as Leucophylum frutescens.

    The purple sage in West Texas has been fabulous, mostly due to the rains which have come at the right times.

    Wow - mine are older plants that suffer from too little sun, all spindly and ugly. I love sage and still try to coax a little more color from the two I have.

    We planted 8 of these beauties a few months ago. So far, so good. I can only hope they’ll reach epic proportions like yours there. Holy mackerel!

    Should one cut the plant back in the winter. mine is about 6 ft tall and may outgrow the 18″ pot.
