Things have been slow around here lately. The DSL is on the fritz again and we’ve been using dial-up. The last time this happened we called for support and they did some kind of test and said we needed a new modem. Since I had been wanting a wireless modem anyway I wasn’t too upset.

This time their tests say there is some kind of “load” on the cable. The DSL folks are blaming it on POTS and the POTS folks are pointing at the DSL people. (You know of course that POTS is a technical term meaning “plain old telephone service”). This has been going on for several days now and it is starting to get tedious.
