travel

Here’s a meme that tells you a little something about me, or at least about my travels. My sister-in-law has a photograph of herself in front of every state capitol. I’m not nearly so well-traveled myself. It looks like I have completely missed the northwest and the southeast too, except for Alabama.

bold the states you’ve been to, underline the states you’ve lived in and italicize the state you’re in now…

Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / Georgia / Hawaii / Idaho / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kansas / Kentucky / Louisiana / Maine / Maryland / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Mississippi / Missouri / Montana / Nebraska / Nevada / New Hampshire / New Jersey / New Mexico / New York / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Oregon / Pennsylvania / Rhode Island / South Carolina / South Dakota / Tennessee / Texas / Utah / Vermont / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Washington D.C. /

I don’t know if I should even count Alabama. I have been there twice but both times it was a business trip and I hardly saw anything other than the inside of offices and hotels that could have been anywhere in the world. I mostly remember being impressed by the amount of forestland as we approached the airport in Birmingham. And also by the southern accents of a couple of older ladies whose conversation I eavedropped on.

Some of the midwest states I can say even less about. Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania were just points along an auto trip from St Louis to New York in a long ago time.

Cowtown Pattie turned me on to this one. She has recently taken up quilting, something I’ve been exposed to a little myself. She is beginning with what I believe they call a friendship quilt. Tricia and I are going to be participating. It is a neat way share memories.
