All the different colors of irises are beginning to bloom now. The colors of this brown one seem to go well with the new blog design. I’ll look it up later and see what its name is. My mother gave me this one several years back and this year it has had prolific blooms.
We have two wisterias in our garden - a purple one and a white one. Both have almost finished their blooms but there are still enough left to fill the back yard with perfume.
None of the roses in the back garden have bloomed yet, but the front garden has an abundance of roses. The Ducher which we planted last spring is only about 18 inches high but it has almost as many blooms as leaves at the moment.

My Iris’ are only up about 12″, the wisteria is just budding. my Lilacs however are blooming already, and they are usually the late bloomers May.
A very nice photo, one of your best; was it your blog that sent me to Argyle last spring to consider purchasing irises? We made it there the last day of the sale. I bought none, and the irises I do have seldom bloom. My speedwell, however, is blooming. I am waiting for my amaryllis to start blooming.

I ought to be able to send a picture of my blooming iris in about 10 weeks. I can’t even imagine having blooms to enjoy in mid-April as you do.
Ooh, pretty pretty iris! I’m starting to fall under the iris spell… though mine got awfuly shredded by the hailstorm.
And what a lovely new design! Good for you!
thanks for your comments — but my goodness, your photos are to behold. and i am very jealous of your site design, very, very delicious.

I grew up calling these ‘flags’. I wonder if this is a regional thing? I like iris and need to visit the Botanical Gardens tomorrow to see if the Iris are bloomed there.
BTW, I really like your new look.
And also just wanted to drop a comment in and say hi, and take care.
