Bill, darn but that’s not fair — posting pretty pics like this and the taters when my camera’s giving up the ghost.

So pretty! I don’t know why I didn’t used to like coneflowers. I planted some this year and I’m hooked–they last so long, are so cheerful, and practically bulletproof. After seeing a huge swallowtail drunkenly swooning on a blossom, who can turn away? (Send me an email and I’ll send you the photo–really pretty)

So pretty………I planted coneflowers last year for the first time- our native butterfly Painted Lady fed on it…….It is just now beginning to bloom for this season……..The swamp milkweed is growing like crazy - about 5 feet tall now with the beginnings of small blooms………the fennel is also about 5 feet tall- taller than last year…….I can hardly wait for the monarchs and swallowtails to arrive- probably sometime in July…..My grandbaby Helena (who is 2) along with her parents recently moved back here to St. Louis & I am so looking forward to teaching her about the wonder of the butterflies…….We have a Butterfly House here that I took her to last week & the look on her face was magical as she watched the butterflies flying around her………a long comment, I know, but I just want to share this with you………
